A cherished legacy

Our beloved Inn has been welcoming locals and travelers with open arms since 1789.

Regarded as New Hampshire’s oldest inn with an unbroken history of hosting since the early colonial era.

History and renaissance

Three centuries ago, The Inn at Hancock greeted stage coaches hauling their exotic cargos from the coast. It was a place where travelers paused on their way to explore the world or regale the bar with tales from their travels. Embracing these global inspirations, our painstaking remodeling recaptures a golden age of hospitality reimagined with a modern hosting mindset and a touch of fanciful flair.

Fastidious but unstuffy

Hospitality perfection is our commitment; no guest’s need goes unfulfilled. After all, we have a duty to uphold the legacy passed down from the twelve devoted innkeepers who came before us. We know we are the custodians of a very special place. And yet, from you, we expect no such reverence. Indeed, you are free to frolic, and we are here to fulfil your whims.
